DTR NRL Game Install Guide Here are some updated instructions to make the older Ratbag games run decently on Win7 and Win10 systems. Remember, Win7-64 and Win10-64 use a different Program folder name than earlier versions of Windows running 32bit. If you are using a 64bit Windows system, extract any zip files to your desktop and manually copy those extracted files to the correct folder. First, make sure as a Windows user you have all the administrative privileges, in particular the "Write" privileges. Most issues with any game installs in Win7 and Win10 have to do with not having the 'rights' to change files.
1. Install the Ratbag Dirt Track Racing game (full install). 2. Install DTR Game Patch 102d 3. Install DTR Game Patch 103 4. While certainly
optional, it is highly recommended to install
nGlide
or other Glide Wrapper program of choice. The Ratbag Games were coded
for Glide...and were quite beautiful graphics at the time if you had a 3dfx
card (no longer made). The Glide Wrapper program brings some of that
glimmer back to the screen and the detail is as similar as you are going
to get to the old 3dfx days. Disregard if you are using a 3dfx card,
or are satisfied with the graphics quality of your system. 5. In the
DTR directory run dtr_clo.exe
and select:
-glide2vsync, -nocheckhresult, -nointro
7. Copy the
new
sound.pf
file to DTR directory for better
engine sound in the game. 10. Install any selected setups with Masked Chicken utility. You can also download my personal current setups save file setups.sav and just download to your saved games folder to get you started. 11. Start the game, select "Glide" for graphics when prompted (if you installed a Glide wrapper). Let the system choose otherwise. **. There is a NO CD patch available but do not use if planning to play this game online. The multi-player server will boot you out...
